The Cent is a unit of area used predominantly in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for measuring land and property plots.

In South Indian property transactions:
- Residential plots commonly listed as "5 cents", "8 cents", "12 cents"
- Registration offices, survey maps and property ads use Cents
- 100 Cents = 1 Acre · 1 Cent ≈ 48.4 sq yards
